The Fresh Market’s Response to COVID-19

To Our Valued Guests:

Thank you for your continued loyalty during this unprecedented time.

As the challenges with COVID continually change, our cleanliness protocols have stayed the same.

This holiday season, we remain committed to helping protect the health and safety of our guests and team members. That is why we strongly encourage all guests to wear a face covering while shopping our stores to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Our team members continue to wear masks to help prevent the spread of COVID.

We appreciate your help in keeping our guests, team members, and their families safe. We will continue to monitor the situation and comply with public health guidance and any state or local restrictions.

At this time, all safety protocols will remain in place at our stores including social distancing and enhanced cleaning and disinfection.

Health & Safety Enhancements In Our Stores

We continue to reinforce the enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols throughout our stores, including designating team members to routinely disinfect high touch point areas.

In addition to emphasizing these practices with our team members we also conduct wellness and temperature taking checks with every team member before the start of their shift. Any team member that does not feel well, or has a temperature above 100.1, is asked to go home.

Social distancing guidelines have been posted in our stores. We have installed plexiglass shields at the checkout lane and implemented contactless credit card payments. We are also providing gloves for all cashiers as well as those who already wear gloves for food preparation. We always encourage team members to diligently wash their hands, but we also have scheduled hand washing.

We will continue to earn your trust and are so appreciative of all the support and encouragement you have shared with us.

Support Local Food Banks

As the need for food assistance during this time continues to rise, The Fresh Market and our guests stepped up to help feed our communities. Together, we raised $1.6 million dollars for Feeding America in 2020. Every dollar raised helps provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks, with 90% of the funds staying in The Fresh Market’s local communities. This equals 16,000,000 meals and counting! Thank you for your generosity and support. Because the need is ongoing, we have maintained the Feeding America® COVID-19 Response Fund link so guests have the opportunity to continue to donate directly to Feeding America.

Additional safety measures and preventive steps we’re taking include:

  • RESERVED SHOPPING HOURS FOR THOSE AT HIGHER RISK

On weekdays the first shopping hour of 8 AM – 9 AM will be reserved for seniors and other individuals most at risk as identified by the CDC. We ask that our other guests who do not fall into a higher risk category respect this reserved hour.

  • FOOD SUPPLY & AVAILABILITY

The Fresh Market has worked diligently with our suppliers to mitigate any disruption to our food deliveries. We receive deliveries daily and are continuously replenishing our stores. We ask that guests purchase only for their immediate needs. In some areas, we are temporarily limiting purchase quantities on some items in higher demand such as milk, eggs, chicken, paper products, and disinfectants.

  • SUPPORTING OUR TEAM MEMBERS

The Fresh Market has established resources for team members, including a health advocate to answer their medical questions, and a hotline for team members to access seven days a week.

If a team member is not feeling well, they are instructed not to come to work. If they are experiencing symptoms consistent with coronavirus, we have activated a 24/7 team member COVID-19 response line, which enables us to track the health of all of our associates specific to coronavirus.

  • HIRING

We are actively hiring additional team members to support our stores. Please go to jobs.thefreshmarket.com to apply.
